Counting the Hours

By My Digital Summer

I think that far too many of us are far too passive about what we’re doing to ourselves as a society. It’s like we’re a mile away from driving off a cliff but everyone wants to act like we can’t hit the breaks. I used to loath the idea of moving to more rural areas, and now it seems like thats the smartest thing I could consider. Weird eh? Then I stop being so gloomy and realize this song would be SO perfect to play at the beginning of “The Walking Dead.” Yep. Me. πŸ˜‰

No streets to cry at night
For change to come about
We’ve finally worn out our welcome

And we plague the cities with disease
And we breed too many mouths to feed
It’s no surprise I’d like to see it all wash away

So let the story drop
With infinite power
Yet I’ll stand strong
Just counting the hours
Like nothing’s wrong
While the city’s devoured
The storm rolls on, in these final hours

It’s too late despite our regrets
We deserve everything we get
And I cant wait for the rain
I invite the earthquakes to hurricanes
And I love the moments just like this
Where the walls come down, and the chaos hits
There’s nothing like an apocalypse to open your eyes

So let the story drop
With infinite power
Yet I’ll stand strong
Just counting the hours
Like nothing’s wrong
While the city’s devoured
The storm rolls on, in these final hours

In these final hours

(Let it destroy everything)
(Don’t wanna save anything)

And I don’t care
If I watch the ocean swallow everything
I welcome the change
I’m so sick of this complete ignorance
Don’t care who survives
Cause I’ll be fine.

So let the story drop
With infinite power
Yet I’ll stand strong
Just counting the hours
Like nothing’s wrong
While the city’s devoured
The storm rolls on, in these final hours

(Let it destroy everything)
In these final hours
(Don’t wanna save anything)
Just let the storm keep raging on and on
It goes on and on
Rages on and on
In these final hours.

Gotta Love Texas!

No idea if it’s true or not, but there are alot of stories close enough that are true for this one to make you smile just a little πŸ˜‰ I got this via email from an old friend.
Rather than forward via email I thought it might be more apt to post it here where far more people will read it πŸ˜‰

TRUE STORY FROM…
“THE HOUSTON HERALD NEWSPAPER”
IN HOUSTON , TEXAS
MARCH 5th, 2009

Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston , Texas Was Arrested,
Jailed, And Charged With Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back
As He Was Running Away With Her Purse. ~

The Following Monday Morning,
The Woman Was Called In Front Of The Arraignment Judge, Sworn In,
And Asked To Explain Her Actions.
The Woman Replied, “I Was Standing At The Corner Bus Stop
For About 15 Minutes, Waiting For The Bus To Take Me Home After Work.
I Am A Waitress At A Local Cafe…
I Was There Alone, So I Had My Right Hand On My Pistol,
That Was In My Purse, That Was Hung Over My Left Shoulder.

All Of A Sudden I Was Being Spun Around Hard To My Left.
As I Caught My Balance, I Saw A Man
Running Away From Me With My Purse.
I Looked Down At My Right Hand And I Saw That My Fingers Were Wrapped Tightly
Around My Pistol. The Next Thing I Remember Is Saying Out Loud,
” No Way Punk! Your Not Stealing My Pay Check And Tips.”
I Raised My Right Hand, Pointed My Pistol
At The Man Running Away From Me With My Purse,
And Squeezed The Trigger Of My Pistol 6 Times!

When Asked By The Arraignment Judge,
“Why Did You Shoot The Man 6 Times?”

The Woman Replied Under Oath,
“Because, When I Pulled The Trigger The 7th Time, It Only Went Click.”

The Woman Was Acquitted Of All Charges. She Was Back At Work, At The Cafe, The Next Day!
