If you’re in the Boston area…

…and you like photography, you should definitely check this out…hell even if you don’t like photography, you should check this out.

My father, Robert Hunt is a primo photographer and his second show this year is in Boston. In addition to his show, I think he’ll have some of his chocolate there, definitely good stuff. My mom and I had the opportunity to leave Boston last summer with a few of these pieces and his work is really inspiring.

Robert will be sharing his hand made chocolate creations at the reception, another of his art forms, along with hors d’oeuvres, wine & music by Guitarist Luigi Grasso. A raffle ($5.00 donation) to win a framed & matted photograph by Robert Hunt; drawing to be held on Thursday, April 29th. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the “Foxboro Music Association” a 5013C Not for Profit. The 29th raffle drawing will coincide with the Fort Point Channel Open Studios night; Accidental Gallery will have extended hours that evening until 9:00PM.

About the Artist
Robert Hunt’s passion is as an artistic photographer The search for inner peace and beauty as a counter to the turmoil within and without, this is the catalyst of his inspiration. Photography is the medium he has chosen to express himself. Robert’s focus is beauty – deriving a sense of positive emotion. To capture impressions, feelings, wonder, moods. Robert’s focus is very much on the lighting; creating mystery & shadows much like the Old Masters.
“The things I see, hear, read and feel. The things that move me to create my work are like a chef that takes all the ingredients from a well-stocked pantry to create a signature dish. Combining all these internal and external influences drives me to create in this style.”

Boston – The Holocaust Monument

The Holocaust Monument
This was by far the greatest piece of work I’ve ever seen regarding the holocaust. This actually marked the fourth large monument I’ve been to. My big regret here is at the time I’d taken pictures of this I hadn’t yet realized my camera was shooting like 1 for 10 in the dark. So I only got about 4 shots out of 40 (I am retty ticked off about that and will not let that happen next time I go 🙂 What my pics dont capture are the steam-filled glass towers etched with all the serial numbers of those that died in the camps. Highly recommended spot to check out.

Not sure exactly why but I’ve always had a big fascination with holocaust exhibits and art.

“Look at these towers, passerby, and try to imagine what they really mean – what they symbolize – what they evoke. They evoke an era of incommensurate darkness, an era in history when civilization lost its humanity and humanity its soul . . .”
“We must look at these towers of memory and say to ourselves, No one should ever deprive a human being of his or her right to dignity. No one should ever deprive anyone of his or her right to be a sovereign human being. No one should ever speak again about racial superiority… We cannot give evil another chance.”

Boston – The Harbor

The Harbor

The Bay....

The Bay....

The ride and the view on the bay was absolutely beautiful. We got to watch a tanker go by and we got a full tour of all the boats docked…loads of ginormous yachts and we even got a good look at the USS Constitution.

The lights and the skyline are a must-see, and I have to recommend taking the water taxi. Give the driver some cashola and go for a ride around the harbor, you will NOT regret it. There simply isn’t a view like the one you get on the water.

…and on to the fun 😉
