The Plan…
I just finished watching Battlestar Gallactica – The Plan.
…sooner or later, I was expecting the directors and writers for this series to start bloating material and rehashing plots.
…and it didn’t happen. We get so much insight into the characters that we finally see.
In a quest to prove themselves greater than human, they only epitomized humanity.
Scientologists everywhere should be protesting this movie…makes them look even more like crooks and shenanigans…well…no harm in the truth I suppose…I know..random slam on the goobs that turned a novel by one guy into a religion..couldn’t help it.
This movie encourages me to stereotype Scientologists with the a-hole Cylons…I know random eh? It’s like seeing children having a temper tantrum instead of accepting truth when the universe presents it to them…anyhow…back on topic. The movie rocked.
And in the final moments of the movie, a short (abridged in the movie, here in its entirety for your pleasure) monologue rendered a point of view we can relate with, but never admit to…
I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays!
I want to hear x-rays…And I…I wanna …I wanna smell dark matter.
Do you see the absurdity of what I am?
I can’t even express these things properly because I have to…
…I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language!
I want to reach out…with something other than these prehensile paws
…and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me!
…I’m a machine……and I can know much more…
…I could experience so much more, but I am trapped in this absurd body! …and WHY?
Because my five creators thought that God wanted it that way!-John Cavil, “No Exit”.
The score at the end of the movie was astounding…loved it. Have a listen (sorry no leeching, you have to buy your own.)
